Single implant can be inserted to replace a single missing tooth. However, this can only be done when there is sufficient amount of bone present.
In cases where there is not enough bone, grafting of the bone may be necessary for placement of implants. A sinus lift is a surgical procedure regularly used to raise the floor of the sinuses while bone is grafted to increase the bone depth for implant insertion.
