Implant or bridge?

When it comes to a single tooth restoration, the question is ” bridge or an implant?” While a bridge may restore your missing tooth quicker, it involves reducing tooth structure of the adjacent teeth, sometimes intact tooth structure being reduced for that purpose. Implant restoration offers many more advantages over a bridge. First, it preserves tooth structure of the adjacent teeth, since it is directly inserted into the jaw bone. Second, it is a single unit restoration, without being splinted to other teeth, thus allowing easy flossing and home care and excellent long-term prognosis. Cost-wise, bridge is a little cheaper, but if you are looking for a better long-term tooth replacement, implant is a wiser choice.
